A new radio station, Threads, is launching out of The Cause this Friday

The Tottenham-based station will broadcast "cutting edge music" and "socially and politically focussed talk-based content"

A new Tottenham-based radio station, Threads, is set to start broadcasting this Friday 25th January out of The Cause club.

It’s operating out of the newly-established nightclub in Tottenham Hale which, as well as hosting parties, was set up to channel money back into local community projects and mental health charities.

The new station promises to broadcast “cutting edge music” and “socially and politically focussed talk-based content”.

A sister radio station, Threads*, is set to open in Berlin.

Like the space it’s operating out of, the station also has a socially conscious element, with partners including charity The Hospice Biographers and Bubble Club, a party championing accessibility for and by people with learning disabilities.

The station has been put together by some of the team behind DIY station 199radio, which launched in April 2017 at New River Studios in Haringey, but is no longer broadcasting.

A new female-led radio station, Foundation FM, launched late last year in Peckham.
