Wild Beasts are releasing a new album, 'Present Tense'
Wild Beasts, one of Britain's most pre-eminent guitar bands, are gearing up to release their fourth album, 'Present Tense'.
Like their previous album, 2011's 'Smother', production duties come from indie mixing titan Lexxx and Brian Eno collaborator Leo Abrahams, and promises to embrace "new production techniques and songwriting forms", with inspiration coming from "the most intense and effervescent of 1980s and 1990s electronic sound". Its eleven tracks took longer to create than anything they've done in the past, conceived, written, and recorded during a nearly yearlong break from touring.
The NYSU-directed video for lead single Wanderlust is available to watch above now. The song, which features tonnes of gurgling, pitches down MIDI choirs, will be released as a single on the same day as the album (February 24th) with remixes by The Field and Factory Floor, as well as a new b-side, Byzantine.
