1. Instupendo – ‘Idol’
Equipped with immaculate production skills and an ear for the most forward-thinking sounds around, indie alt-electronic artist Instupendo has established himself as one pop music’s most refreshing talents. As experimental and intricate as it is minimal, ‘Idol’ is a glitchy step away from some of his smoother tracks while the addition of his own vocals elevates the sound to new levels.
2. MOLDY x Sylarbomb – ‘bet777.kr’
MOLDY and Sylarbomb, two members of the South Korean rap collective Grack Thany, have released a joint project titled ‘Sci-Fi Short Film’. An exciting force in South Korea’s underground rap scene, their sound brings together boundary pushing production and head-turning vocals. Opening the project, ‘bet777.kr’ is an explosive glimpse at what the pair are all about.
3. Quelle Rox – ‘Liquor Rain’
Borrowing aspects of bedroom pop and blending them together with her expansive and other-worldly production, Quelle Rox is in her own lane. Taken from her new ‘Lilac Rush’ project, ‘Liquor Rain’ is a glistening pop number complete with Rox’s stand out vocal melodies.
4. 99VANNY – ‘FRANK’S e30!’
Hailing from North Carolina, 99VANNY’s explosive sound is making him a rising force in the underground rap scene. On ‘FRANK’S e30!’, the rapper puts his catchy wordplay to use over a thumping trap beat.
5. Ceru Lean – ‘ripple’
Electronic outfit Ceru Lean know how to make elegant and kaleidoscopic soundscapes, which is highlighted on new track ‘Ripple’. Pulling together a vast array of textures and sounds, the end result is a mellow concoction of stuttering electronics and erratic percussion.
