Jeshi drops visual for new single 'This Thing Of Ours', shares deluxe album

Flexing his fiery, inimitable rap style over a gradually intensifying beat...

East London rapper Jeshi is back with a brand new single and video to accompany the Deluxe Edition of his debut album ‘Universal Credit’.

Jeshi’s reflective, cutting-edge hip-hop has taken the UK by storm since breaking out in 2017 with his ‘The Worlds Spinning Too Fast’ EP, going on to earn co-signs in both slowthai and Vegyn.

This new offering is fresh off the back of his critically lauded debut album which came out earlier this year in May. Since dropping, the project has cemented Jeshi’s status as one of London’s most exciting underground rappers, helping to bring a voice to the largely ignored and dehumanised in British society with a release that feels increasingly poignant in the current climate.

As well as including a remix and 4 new live ‘Bad Day At The Office’ versions, the Deluxe Edition features new single ‘This Thing Of Ours’. Flexing his fiery, inimitable rap style over a gradually intensifying beat, the Londoner proves why he’s had such a successful year, closing it out in style while putting him in a good position to dominate 2023 as well.

“Been so excited to share ‘This Thing Of Ours’ for the longest time… it was initially going to be on Universal Credit but needed to get the Gabriels sample across the line first,” says Jeshi. “Was such a great feeling when they gave it the green light, it feels really exciting for me to now be able to work that and the new versions of tracks I already loved into this deluxe version of the album.”

The new music video is centred around various telephone boxes, switching to different locations while Jeshi carves through the streets alone. “The video captured how the song feels to me perfectly, he adds. Was well worth running around and shooting a ridiculous amount of phone boxes in Preston and Longridge for.”
