Premiere: Sinkane - Warm Spell

The (probably NSFW) video for Sinkane’s Warm Spell is apparently about a man who lands in an alternate reality populated by sirens (said alternate reality mainly consists of close-ups of fruit and flowers that directors and photographers Philip Di Fiore and Christopher J. Lytwyn took), who discovers he has to give into his primal desires in order to understand the world around him. Whether you’re on board with this idea or not, there’s no denying that it’s a gorgeous video that, despite being shot in black and white, feels very colourful. The song is a belter too, starting off as a free jazz exploration before giving way to a tribal funk groove. It’s taken from Sinkane’s debut album ‘Mars’, released last year via City Slang (DFA put it out in the US, which in itself is a seal of approval, if one were needed).

Sinkane will play Hop Farm Festival on July 5th, and Latitude Festival on July 21st.
