17,000 capacity Eastern Electrics festival is homeless :(

The first Eastern Electrics Festival will take place on Saturday 4th August at an unknown venue in London rather than the previously announced Clapham Common.

Eastern Electrics made an announcement on the festival’s official Facebook page, stating that “the Eastern Electrics Festival debut was due to take place on Clapham Common as part of a long run of special one-off events celebrating the Olympics, called Pride House. We’ve received the unfortunate news that Pride House will no longer be going ahead and despite selling over 50% of our 17,000 allocation of tickets, Eastern Electrics has today found itself homeless. “

In their words: “After many years of running some of London’s most adventurous warehouse parties in the city’s greatest spaces, we are very used to the challenges of finding the best space to showcase the music we love. We now have a range of extremely exciting alternative locations and we will make a decision shortly on which is the strongest site capable of delivering the ultimate festival experience, with the ultimate sound.”

Confirmed acts include high-profile artists such as Julio Bashmore, Joy Orbison, Nina Kravitz, Jamie Jones, Tensnake and Maceo Plex. They will be joined by more than 35 acts, who will be announced in the next few months.

Existing tickets will still be valid at the new location, and the show will go on.
