In being one man down and a vocalist short, with the 2010 departure of avant-gardist Tyondai Braxton, the three remaining members of NYC mathrockers, Battles returned with the deliciously playful “Gloss Drop” last year. It featured the voices of quirky techno-head Matias Aguayo on Ice Cream, plus other cameos from the likes of electro-pop icon Gary Numan, The Boredom’s Yamantaka Eye and Blonde Redhead’s Kazu Makino. In the continued spirit of collaboration, the second of a four-part 12-inch “Dross Glop” remix series features none other than Seattle’s hip hop redeemers Shabazz Palaces.
