Battles - White Electric (Shabazz Palaces remix)

In being one man down and a vocalist short, with the 2010 departure of avant-gardist Tyondai Braxton, the three remaining members of NYC mathrockers, Battles returned with the deliciously playful “Gloss Drop” last year. It featured the voices of quirky techno-head Matias Aguayo on Ice Cream, plus other cameos from the likes of electro-pop icon Gary Numan, The Boredom’s Yamantaka Eye and Blonde Redhead’s Kazu Makino. In the continued spirit of collaboration, the second of a four-part 12-inch “Dross Glop” remix series features none other than Seattle’s hip hop redeemers Shabazz Palaces. Listen to them iron out the creases and put their own smooth as silk stamp on White Electric, out on Warp Records February 12th.
