Ikonika - Fleas [stream]

Ikonika has a new track coming out on Manchester’s Hoya:Hoya, Fleas, which you can stream below. With her album ‘Contact, Love, Want, Have’ out on Hyperdub last year, this marks the first new material from her in 2011. The bold video game synths that marked out her previous work are now given more of an industrial rhythm to play out over, with those sprightly digital fizzings accompanied by shards of harsher noise. The sci-fi atmospherics of her previous releases have become bigger more complex, with Fleas playing out like the soundtrack to Sonic The Hedgehog running through The Crystal Maze in 3D.
