Lilo Shares Eerie Pop Single 'You're Coming Over'

New track marks a shift in musical direction for rising artist

For fans of Lana Del Rey and Madison Beer comes London-based artist Lilo.

On new single release, 'You're Coming Over', Lilo's ethereal falsetto takes centre stage as she sings of a desire so powerful it overwhelms her.

Inspired by thriller movies such as 'Gone Girl', Lilo's new release signifies a shift in sonic direction for Lilo. While still rooted in pop sensibilities, 'You're Coming Over' feels like the beginning of a new era for the artist.

The gentle piano-led introduction makes you think the track will go one way, before it transitions into an unsettling atmospheric section, eventually leading into a dynamic chorus enriched with Lilo's richly layered vocals.

“I wrote a song that lyrically encapsulates the fierce, high-risk, kill-for-this-love type of romance," Lilo explains. "The lyrics are very confident and direct, effectively mirroring the boldness and delusional audacity of the narrator. After composing the song on the piano in my bedroom, I worked in London with my producer Patrick Byrne to bring this track to life. I created the punchy backing vocals in the chorus to help give the track an interesting, immediate rhythm.”

It's not the first time that Lilo has taken listeners into the depths of human emotion. Her previous singles, such as an earlier release from this year, 'I Don't Wanna Feel', are packed with raw emotion as Lilo wears her heart proudly on her sleeve.

'You're Coming Over' is out now.
