Patrice & Friends - Cherry Sorbet

Slackk is great at the best of times, but he is particularly great when cutting up old R&B slowjams with his elusive ‘friends’ and transforming them into mutant juke creations.

The Patrice & Friends project has spawned two albums already, both of which were bonkers good fun, and yesterday he gifted the world with a third. ‘Cherry Sorbet’ is not just the third Patrice & Friends album, it’s the third in one year – this may seem overwhelming simply for the sheer quantity of tracks, but then again, overwhelming quantity tends to be the case in juke and footwork on the whole. And when it features tracks as fun as Barmaid and Patron On Deck, who are we to complain?

The icing on the cake is that you can get the whole thing for free on his Bandcamp page, although we would of course recommend forwarding a bit of cash if you do enjoy it. When compiling our list of essential Bandcamps, we left Patrice & Friends off for some inexplicable reason, so we hope this is one way of making amends.
