Sami Rizk Drops Third Album 'Idle.'
Rapper, songwriter and producer, Sami Rizk, has returned with another full length project, 'Idle.'
Coming in at an impressive 22 tracks, the sheer length of the record signals anything other than idleness.
Melding rap, hip-hop, and alternative, 'Idle.' takes on a contemplative tone from the beginning, with Rizk asking his listeners: "How well do you know yourself?" on opening track 'self identity'.
The introspection continues throughout 'Idle.' as the rising artist traverses everything from self-healing to stress, and his hopes and dreams against jazz-inflected hip-hop melodies. Teeming with emotion and the desire for common connection, Rizk's album title creates a safe space for those who share feelings of being lost, stagnant, or even useless sometimes.
"For the last three years I’ve been working on a project that truly reflects the inside of my mind. Being “idle” is something we all feel in time—a hopeless reach for a colorful burst of what could be or just a second to breathe, ponder and truly feel your own presence. I hope this album can offer a piece of harmony to all struggle—for my struggle is yours, and your struggle is the worlds," Rizk posted on Instagram.
For fans of Mac Miller and Tyler, The Creator, 'Idle.' is a clear evolution of Sami Rizk's artistry. Each track stands apart from the next, seamlessly flowing into one cohesive piece.
'Idle.' is out now.
