Samuel Organ's 'Default' is a shape-shifting cut of ethereal electronica

The track is taken from his forthcoming album featuring BABii, Slugabed and drummer Adam Betts

Brighton-based Samuel Organ today shares ‘Default’, a thrilling cut of fragile electronica.

Organ is one of the latest additions to our DMY Artists roster, and previous album ‘Complex Habitat Systems’ drew praise from the PC Music camp, as well as Caroline Polachek and How To Dress Well.

‘Default’ introduces an industrial-textured, shuffly beat, which the delicate vocals of London-based singer-songwriter Dazey melt over.

His forthcoming album ‘A Safe Place In Cyberspace’, which he describes as “a piece of work I’ve dreamt of making for years now” includes features from acclaimed visual and sound artist BABii (listen to her Dummy Mix), drummer Adam Betts (Squarepusher, Goldie, Jarvis Cocker), and producers Slugabed and Cole Longanecker.

Lyrically, ‘Default’ came from vocalist Dazey’s experience of social situations: “I would get so anxious about what other people were thinking… my energy and thoughts were in the wrong place. I had so much self-doubt growing up that I thought there was a default version of myself that was useless. It still feels like that sometimes, but I care less now’.”
