SOPHIE twists SONIKKU's 'Sweat' into a eurodance banger
Crafting hyper-futuristic dance trax since 2013 and her debut ‘Nothing More To Say’, SOPHIE has been a keen collaborator as of late, working with Kota Banks, Kim Petras, Flume, Palmistry and more.
Her latest link-up is with SONIKKU, whose ‘Sweat ft. LIZ‘ she has reworked into a glossy eurodance banger with strobing synths, inspired by sweaty nights at Berghain.
A recent signee to Bella Union after outings on Lobster Theremin, SONIKKU is a regular DJ at Tottenham LGBTQ rave Adonis.
“When SOPHIE and I met, we played each other our favourite disco music, and I think we view pop music in a very similar way,” SONIKKU says. “A mutual friend played ‘Sweat’ to her, and she connected with it instantly. To collaborate with an artist whose music I admire feels unreal – I could listen to ‘Nothing More To Say’ on repeat endlessly. I feel the same hypersonic energy of that track was brought to the ‘Sweat’ remix.”
Listen to ‘Sweat (SOPHIE Remix)’:
SOPHIE’s remix is taken from a forthcoming EP of ‘Sweat’ remixes, which includes a BALTRA re-work, and is due for release 13 December via Bella Union.
