Ahead of their Dummy Presents showcase at Elvis Guesthouse on March 26th, Downtown Singles Club stoke the fires of weekend anticipation with an exclusive stream of their first compilation with us, 'Downtown Singles Club Vol. 1'. A blissful blend of laidback leisurely listening and feelgood party warm-up anthems, the label have shared an advance stream with us that features four tracks of pure gold.
Dummy readers may already be familiar with multi-talented Auckland outfit LEISURE after they made the long trek to London for Dummy Presents back in October 2015. Opening the DSC compilation, the Blue Lagoon cocktail clutching digits on the artwork of Hot Love evoke feelings of exotic ‘80s package holidays in St. Tropez and lying on a sun lounger next to a preened supermodel. Lush, soft and serene.
Additional Dummy faves and coincidentally also originally hailing from NZ are Fortunes. Adding to the Downtown Single Club compilation with their love drunk track Fkwtu, the dulcet tones of Conor McGabe are undeniable, with dreamboat beats bubbling up around his neo-soul-esque delivery.
Downtown Single Club also cement their ear for a good time track with Basic Tape's poptastic dance addition Not Afraid and Luca's serenely vocal laden cut Best On, featuring Tei Shi. Neither of which would be wise to miss.
