Vegyn carves his sound into Léa Sen's 'I Feel Like I'm Blue'

"Why leave it in our hard drives forever?"

London-based songstress Léa Sen has today shared a new rework of her 2022 single ‘I Feel Like I’m Blue’ by genre-shifting Frank Ocean collaborator and PLZ Make It Ruins label head Vegyn.

The track originally featured on the 23-year-old’s debut EP ‘You Of Now Pt.1’ which arrived earlier this year, positioning her as one of the capital’s most in-demand talents.

Soaking Léa’s single in a trademark helping of reverb, Vegyn subtly transforms the original into a woozy electronic-leaning anthem while ensuring the singer’s vocals remain centre stage.

“The rework came very organically, there was never an intention to put it out,” says Léa. “Joe [Vegyn] and I were just sharing stems because we were excited about each other’s work, and that was like 2 years ago. It’s a bit terrifying to share it with people now but why leave it in our hard drives forever? Hopefully it connects!”

Upping sticks from her home on the outskirts of Paris to forge an exciting new path in the UK capital, Sen’s rise has been admirable since her break-out year in 2021 which saw the songstress feature on Joy Orbison’s ‘still slipping vol. 1’ album.

Léa Sen has just wrapped up a run of touring with fellow polymath Nilüfer Yanya in Europe which followed a string of supporting dates earlier this year. She is due to perform at Pitchfork Festival London on November 13th before returning to her home country for Pitchfork Festival Paris on the 19th.
