BBC announce Sound of 2018 nominations

The BBC has revealed its longlist for their annual Sound Of… award, which highlights some of music's best rising stars, as a nod to future success in 2018. Compiled by 173 DJs, critics and industry experts, the top five will be revealed in January on BBC Radio 1 and BBC News, with one artist announced each day from Monday 8th January, and the winner unveiled on Friday 12th.

Making their way onto the list are singers IAMDDB, Billie Eilish, Sigrid and Rex Orange County, along with rappers Not3s and Yxng Bane. Previous winners of the award include Adele, Ellie Goulding, Haim and last year's recipient, Ray BLK, while others who've made the list over the years include Dummy favourites Sampha, King Krule, Kelela, FKA Twigs and J Hus.
