Beach Boys get back together

Good vibrations for 2012 as Wilson and co announce 50-date world tour and album to celebrate 50th anniversary.

The Beach Boys have announced a 50-date world tour and a new album for 2012 to celebrate 50 years since first forming in California in 1961. The line-up will consist of founding members Brian Wilson, Mike Love and Al Jardine, as well as Bruce Johnston and David Marks who have a long history with the band following the deaths of original members Dennis and Carl Wilson, brothers of Brian, in 1983 and 1998 respectively. The tour will kick off in New Orleans on 27th April 2012, preceded by a performance at the Grammys on February 12th.

News of this 50th anniversary reunion follows the release of ‘The SMiLE Sessions’ earlier this year, featuring previously unreleased studio session material from the ‘lost’ Beach Boys album that was started in 1966 and then completed and released by Brian Wilson in 2004.
