GEMS - Sinking Stone

The DC dreamers continue to impress with a peach of a new single.

Dream poppers GEMS have shared their latest single in Sinking Stone, and it’s the sound of the DC duo at their finest yet. Tense, reverberating percussion soon gives way to an airborne verse, with Lindsey Pitts channelling Alison Goldfrapp at her sultriest. Then, just as the title suggests, Sinking Stone connects with the water’s surface as Lindsay’s spiralling voice asks “Could you ever love me again?” over teasing guitar strokes. GEMS last drew our ears with the honey-dipped Pegasus, and the duo also recently shared the more groove-driven Never Age. If you’re not familiar with GEMS yet, Sinking Stone is a delightfully easy way in.
