Grouper releases collaborative EP

Exquisite soundscape artist Grouper works with fellow Portland, Oregon musician Ilyas Ahmed on new EP.

Ilyas Ahmed and Grouper have made an EP under the name Visitor. It’s out on Social Music’s subscription service, and you can hear the first, untitled track below.

Grouper is Liz Harris, who has recorded and released several exquisite albums of mainly sad-sounding ambient music. You can hear her terrific album ‘Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill’, which is far more enjoyable than dragging a dead deer up a hill, because while Grouper is very heavy, a dead deer is even heavier.

Ilyas Ahmed is, to be honest, new to the magazine, but has released work through reputable underground label Digitalis, and self-released two records, ‘Goner’ and ‘Between Two Skies And Towards The Night’.
