Premiere: Kahn - And The World Was Gone

The Young Echo collective member delivers a startling and pure cover of Snow Ghosts.

Yesterday, Houndstooth released And The World was Gone, the haunting single from Snow Ghosts – that's the collaborative project of producer Throwing Snow and vocalist Augustus Ghost – and tucked away in the package of remixes is this startling cover version from Young Echo collective member Kahn. Known for using his intimately quiet and piercing vocal to disorienting and disturbing effect on his own productions, here it teases an unease out of the gloomy original, with dense production strokes replaced by a stripped-back guitar riff, wide open space and an unfaltering vocal that hits you with the insensity of a stare held just a second too long.

Stream the cover exclusively in the player above, and buy the single (along with this version and remixes from Calibre and Roly Porter) here

Houndstooth released And The World Was Gone on the 26th August 2013.
