Kanye has already missed voter registration deadlines for his presidential campaign
Kanye West’s bid for the presidency in 2020 is looking less likely after it was revealed that the rapper has missed several key deadlines.
Over the weekend, the rapper announced he would run for president in the 2020 elections via Twitter, coming up against Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
The rapper has supposedly missed the deadline to appear as an independent candidate on the ballot in six states: North Carolina, Texas, New York, Maine, New Mexico and Indiana.
He could still potentially gain votes in those states as a write-in candidate, where voters can write their name on the ballot paper, although the legality of these varies from state to state.
After announcing his presidential bid, West gained the support of Elon Musk, who tweeted: “You have my full support!”

West recently teamed up with Chick-Fil-A to provide 300,000 free meals amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Update (18/8/20): Kanye has secured a place on the ballot in Utah, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
State Elections Director Justin Lee said his office has verified that West’s campaign has gathered the 1,000 signatures required from registered voters in order to appear on the ballot.
