Kanye West gets back on Twitter and hints at a new album.

Kanye West returned to Twitter this afternoon to say “June Eighteen”, sparking rumours about a new album and fevered reaches for pocket diaries.

It’s been about three years since Kanye released his last solo LP ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ and there have been numerous recent reports from “inside his camp” about this new album. Most promising was word from Hot 97.5 DJ Peter Rosenberg, who confirmed on air that his label Def Jam have already held a listening session for it.

June the 18th marks Napoleon’s defeat at the Battle of Waterloo and the day Sally Ride became the first American woman to go into space but will probably mean a big song or album announcement from West this year, who is also scheduled to appear at the final episode of this season’s Saturday Night Live on May 18th.
