Laurel Halo – Quarantine [album stream]

Laurel Halo's beguiling and brilliant debut album for Hyperdub is available for listening right now.

Laurel Halo’s releases so far have been some of the most interesting electronic music of the decade. From the organic pop of her ‘King Felix’ EP in 2010, to last year’s brilliant off-kilter techno EP ‘Hour Logic’, and this year’s abstract dance-floor focused EP under the name King Felix, she’s always been able to render familiar ideas in her own distinctive style. Her debut full length album, coming out on London’s Hyperdub at the end of the month, is no different. It’s a restlessly explorative work, her own voice mostly at the forefront, backed by beguiling layers of digital sound, a record at once as beautiful as it is something of an enigma.
