Lilacs & Champagne - Sour / Sweet

Lilacs & Champagne is the sample project of Alex Hall and Emil Amos (of Grails), and they have shared new track Sour/Sweet, taken from their forthcoming album ‘Danish & Blue’. The album is, according to its press release, “made up of sounds sourced from Scandinavian porn and hyper-obscure b-movies from the late ’60s”, which would explain the track’s vinyl crackle and laid back funk. It’s quite lovely, too, recalling classic sample-based hip hop with a smokey, lounge-y atmosphere.

Mexican Summer will release ‘Danish/Blue’ on March 22nd.
