Microphone thrown by Cardi B is up for sale on eBay
The microphone Cardi B threw at an audience member during a Las Vegas show is being auctioned off for charity on eBay.
Midway through the rapper's concert at Drai’s Beachclub on July 29, a member of the audience appeared to throw their drink at the 30-year-old while she performed. Cardi quickly retaliated by hurling her microphone towards the culprit.
The infamous microphone has since been spotted up for auction on eBay, where the highest bid currently stands at $99,900. It's since been confirmed that all proceeds will go to charity.
The mic was first listed on Tuesday for $500 by Scott Fisher, the owner of The Wave, the audio company that provided the equipment to Drai's Beachclub in Las Vegas where the incident happened.
"Shure Axient digital Mic Cardi B threw at a person," the listing reads. "Auctioned for charity. If you want a piece of hip hop infamy and what has now become national and world news then please bid whatever you are willing to spend."
Fisher told Insider that when he learned about the incident he was initially just worried about damage to the microphone, which he said cost about $1,000.
"I ended up getting a video sent to me from my shop manager who said 'Hey Scott, just letting you know that one of our mics got tossed,'" Fisher said. "The last time I got those microphones, which was earlier this year, it took 9 or 10 months back order. And I'm sitting there going, 'Man, I hope I can replace this, I hope I can get this fixed if it's broken."
"It's been ridiculously insane," Fisher said. "As long as somebody actually pays for it, some people are going to benefit, hopefully, from the money."
