Mount Kimbie - Blood and Form
Warp duo Mount Kimbie have just dropped the second single from their upcoming album ‘Cold Spring Fault Less Youth’, and it sounds so heavy that it probably made a dent in the floor when they did. Sounding much more sober in some ways (a firmer, slower beat coupled with insistent chants and sparse instrumentation) and much less so in others (a submerged feeling dominates, with the vocals seeming just out of reach), Blood and Form is a surprising departure from the surprising departure that was Made To Stray. All of which suggests that their album is going to be one full of twists and turns.
