
New 'A Quick Ting On: Grime' book documents the history and evolution of the UK genre
A new book recounting the history and influence of UK grime music is coming this September.
Written by journalist, rapper and activist Franklyn Addo, Jacaranda Books' A Quick Ting On series will hone in on the story of grime music in the UK. The A Quick Ting On series has previously covered Afrobeats, Black British Power, The Black Girl Afro and more.
Out 21st September via the London-based publisher, distributed by Hachette, the books charts the genre's development, expansion and cultural impact.
This August, East London is getting its first ever independent print market with a focus on electronic music.
Run by Velocity Press, the market will host a number of independent publishers like Disco Pogo, Dance Policy, Repeater Books, Four Corners Books, My First Book of Drum & Bass, the Museum of Youth Culture and more, as well as selling zines, print, records and a range of other merch.
