Los Angeles artist Ramona Gonzalez aka Nite Jewel has long been an acclaimed fixture on the city’s lo-fi scene, releasing many lovely if a little meandering records, but on her new studio album ‘One Second of Love’ she finally steps into diamond-cut focus. And the result is simply stunning. ‘Timeless’ gets bandied about far too often but it’s the word I just can’t get away from right now. That’s not to say it doesn’t feel fresh or new, because it does. ‘One Second of Love’ is a very modern soul classic that speaks directly on matters of the heart, and as such is one it’s scarily easy to fall hard for.
