Premiere: Owiny Sigoma Band - Harpoon Land (Hello Skinny remix)

Owiny Sigoma Band released their second album, 'Power Punch', back in April this year through Brownswood Recordings. A hybrid of Kenyan music and British-born electronica, the band have made high profile fans in the form of Atoms For Peace, who they're currently on tour with. Before that, Brownswood are releasing new single Harpoon Land, featuring a rework by Hello Skinny, which we're premiering today. Hello Skinny is actually an alias of the band's drummer Tom Skinner and as you'd expect from this knowledge, the drums are a focal point – they're highly percussive and slightly wonky, and the main track will often drop out to let the drum breaks play on their own.

Brownswood will release Harpoon Land on July 27th. Owiny Sigoma Band will play London's Village Underground on the 1st August 2013; get tickets for that here.
