Paradis - La Ballade Du Jim [stream]

Famous dance radioshow Beats In Space is finally releasing records and its first single is really good.

Tim Sweeney is an important electronic music figure thanks to his influential weekly radio show, Beats In Space. The show, now in its twelfth year, has had guests ranging from Four Tet to James Murphy to Dixon in the last month alone, and broadcasts from the WNYU radio booth in lower Manhattan every Tuesday.

The label’s first release is from Parisian duo and long-time admirers of the show, Paradis. Simon Mény & Pierre Rousseau have crafted an atmospheric sound filled with elements of jazz, disco, house, and pop. The B-side of this 12” is a cover of Alain Souchon’s La Ballade de Jim and can be streamed via the video below. The mid-tempo cosmic synths and dreamy, slightly melancholy vocals encapsulate the hazy romantic nostalgia of the Beats In Space sound; a fitting debut for a very promising label.
