Premiere: Samoyed - Sloe Eyes

Appearing on Jacques Greene’s Vase label is Sloe Eyes by Scottish producer Samoyed. Samoyed is someone we’ve covered a bunch of times in recent memory – the last time was on his intriguingly titled When You Are Engulfed In Flames – and this is probably his most high profile release to date. On the surface level, it seems like pretty simple stuff – warm low end, crackling handclaps and rave synths play out over an uptempo 4×4 rhythm, a screwed vocal sample calling out the words “into my arms” – but it gets in your head in ways that you’d never imagine it could. The B-side is called Guts, leading us to the conclusion that Samoyed might be behind some of the best track names in dance music right now.
