Pure X to release album, 'Pleasure', on Acephale

Slow rock band from Austin, once Pure Ecstasy, still one of the finest, to release LP this year on good label Acephale.

One of the better bands to emerge in recent years is the heart-wrenching and slow Austin, Texas (which is in the USA), band Pure X, who used to be called Pure Ecstasy. After releasing their majestic ‘Voices’ EP, the New York-based label Acephale will be putting out Nate Grace, Jesse Jenkins and Austin Youngblood’s album ‘Pleasure’ on the 22nd of August.

If you’ve yet to become acquainted, download their song Back Where I Began, taken from Acephale’s re-release of their debut EP ‘You’re In It Now’, in conjunction with Light Lodge, out very soon, above, watch the below clip from when they played our party in Austin, Texas, and read this short piece they did a month or so ago.

Label head Patrik North said of the band:

“A friend showed me them while I was at work in a shitty warehouse job where I spent most of my time on my phone handling Acéphale and SALEM business. Like most of the bands I work with, my reaction was immediate and I think I must have listened to Easy on repeat for what seems like a week. While the album keeps a few of their previous singles, they’re updated with new mixing that brings out new warmth and texture. The newer jams are pretty varied – running from soft and meditative to almost jagged.”
