Sound art fans rejoice! Oneohtrix Point Never announce s split LP with Rene Hell

Hooray! There is going to be new Oneohtrix and Rene Hell music available.

Rene Hell (born Jeff Witscher) is a great composer who’s worked with Type Records and released a superb album called ‘Porcelain Opera’, which perfectly describes his fragile yet pure approach to composition which you can hear below.

Oneohtrix Point Never is a familiar name to many readers of this site, attentive ones of which will remember his latest project is a collaboration with Nate Boyce entitled ‘Reliquary House’, about memory and stuff, and is to be performed at the LSO Church in London soon (it debuted at New York’s MoMA). Oh, hey, there’s a clip of it, literally below.

That will appear on the LP alongside Rene Hell’s ‘In 1980 I Was A Blue Square’, which may also be a reference to memory and the past and so on (ultrasound, perhaps?). You can stream clips of the album through NNA Tapes, who will be releasing the record on the 17th September. The music will come housed in this superb artwork:
