"Stop lying": Megan Thee Stallion says she was shot by Tory Lanez

She explained that she initially kept quiet about the gun in the car due to fears of police brutality

Megan Thee Stallion has set the record straight about an incident between her and Tory Lanez, stating he shot her after an argument and has lied about it.

The 25-year-old opened up about the attack where she was shot in both feet in an Instagram Live last night (August 20th), an event which she’d previously kept quiet about in a bid to protect the Canadian rapper.

She also explained that she didn’t tell the police there was a gun in the car because she was worried about the incident escalating amid ongoing issues with police violence.

“Yes this n***** Tory shot me,” she says in the video. “You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and shit. Stop lying.”

Speaking in detail about what happened, the Houston rapper revealed that the incident took place after an argument started in a car between Tory Lanez, his security and her friend. “I get out the car, I’m done arguing. I don’t want to argue no more, I get out. I’m walking away. This n***** from out the backseat of the car, started shooting me. You shot me! I didn’t get cut by no glass.”

Visibly upset, she continues: “Why lie? I don’t understand. I tried to keep the situation off the internet, but you’re dragging it. You really fuckin’ dragging it.”

Following this news, the singer JoJo tweeted that she had taken Lanez off the deluxe version of her album.

Tory Lanez was initially arrested and charged for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle.

It was recently revealed that Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B were giving away $1 million to “powerful women”. after the runaway success of ‘WAP’, a track which has drawn criticism from right-wing commentators as well as Carole Baskin.

UPDATE (9/9/20): TMZ is reporting that Tory Lanez apologised to Megan Thee Stallion via text message 15 hours after the shooting, with his explanation being “I was just too drunk.”

TMZ claims to have seen the text sent to Megan, which allegedly read: “I know u prolly never gone talk to me again, but I genuinely want u to know I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart,” while also repeating his intoxication as an excuse: “Cuz I genuinely just got too drunk.”
