Ikonika - Praxis

Ikonika's forthcoming 'Position' EP is the Hyperdub producer's first bit of new music since last year's 'Aerotropolis' album, and it sees her in what Hyperdub's press folks are calling "straight up banger mode". That is to say: the five tracks on the EP are club tracks, made for the dancefloor.

With all that said, Ikonika's ear for emotive melody is such that she'd never put out a simple 'club tool' as is evidenced on Praxis. First heard closing her Dummy Mix last year, Praxis is a contemplative sort of song, neither happy nor sad, that seems to build up to something before drifting away without resolving anything.
