Thundercat - Oh Sheit's It's X

Thundercat’s Oh Sheit’s It’s X can be seen as a mutated counterpart to Daft Punk’s Get Lucky. It’s real funky stuff – warbling bass grooves, Rhodes-style chords and strings – but with a wink and a smile rather than the po-facedness of the latter group. Whilst Pharrell insisted you don’t need MDMA for “The Robots’” music, Thundercat seems to be more than happy to indulge, chatting about being high and wanting to party, and little else. By his own admission, he ends up fucked up by the end of the song, but he doesn’t really mind – he’s having a good time, and so should you.
