Manchester’s Damu extends his energetic reputation further with a cultured remix of Water Borders’ What Wiwant, ahead of the imminent launch of the San Francisco duo’s debut album on Tri Angle Records.

Full of mini crescendos and packing an array of diverse elements, ranging from the sublime – a tabla-heavy backdrop and some magic, Koreless-esque synths, to the ridiculous – spiralling, video game power-up-grabbing samples, Damu takes the thick darkness of the original on a wandering journey toward the tribal.

Water Borders release their eagerly anticipated album, ‘Harbored Mantras’, on 10th October. Meanwhile, Damu’s own debut LP, Unity, is forthcoming on Keysound in November.
