We Love Green 2019 is 100% powered by renewable energy

FKA Twigs, Tierra Whack, Rosalia and Flohio are all billed...

We Love Green festival returns to the picturesque grounds of Bois de Vincennes – a natural park located on the eastern edge of Paris – for its eighth year this weekend.

With a genre-hopping line-up spread across Saturday and Sunday, there are headline performances from Christine and the Queens and Erykah Badu as well as live sets from some of the most exciting women in music including FKA Twigs, Rosalia, Tierra Whack, Kali Uchis and Flohio.

That’s without mentioning the stellar DJ line-up that includes Marie Davidson, Peggy Gou, Lena Willikens and France’s own Miley Serious.

While it’s grown a reputation as being one of Europe’s most musically diverse festivals, another major focus is that it remains eco-friendly and 100% powered by renewable energy: throwing a great party but keeping the environment in mind, essentially.

“Everything at We Love Green is planned with a key question in mind: ‘What resources do we have to hand, and what can we make with them?’”, say the organisers.

“The festival aims to raise public awareness of environmental issues and, via our Think Tank stage, hopes to inspire people to be able to make small changes which will have a huge impact. Music can be a tool to express solidarity and to provoke social change.”

Taking the lead while protecting the planet, it seems that a lot of other festivals could learn something from the rounded ethos of We Love Green.
