AP to livestream Whitney Houston's funeral

The private memorial of the singer will be made public for fans.

The tumultuous life of Whitney Houston ended dramatically over the weekend. In news that is either charming, tasteless, or demonstrates the Whitney’s status as a public figure, the private funeral from Houston’s childhood church in New Jersey, on Saturday February 18th will be broadcast online. The ceremony will take place at 5pm (GMT), in Newark’s New Hope Baptist Church. According to reports, the event be be available through The Associated Press’s Live Stream channel.

The 48-year-old performer, famous for her role in The Bodyguard, passed away in her Beverly Hills hotel room from a suspected prescription drug overdose on Saturday. Houston’s label Sony recently apologised for their ‘mistaken’ iTunes price-hike following news of her death.
