1. PinkPantheress – ‘Where you are’ feat. WILLOW
Running with the momentum which saw her win the BBC Sound of 2022 award a few months back, PinkPatheress’ latest single ‘Where you are’ shows the only way is up for the social media phenomenon. Already dialled into the US market thanks to her success on TikTok, the new track enlists the vocals of Willow Smith, the production of Skrillex and Mura Masa, and also samples Paramore for that extra splash of nostalgia. What more could you want?
2. Potter Payper – ‘Gangsteritus Part 2’ feat. Nines & Tiggs Da Author
After years of grafting, messing up and bouncing back, Potter Payper is finally getting the recognition he deserves beyond his loyal fan base as one of the UK’s greatest rappers. For his latest single, he gets none other than Nines to hop on, offering up his first verse since being released from prison last month. ‘Gangsteritus’ was one of the standout tracks on Payper’s ‘Thanks For Waiting’ mixtape and this second part takes it to new heights.
3. Dréya Mac – ‘Ain’t No Way’
West London’s very own Dréya Mac is back with a new single in the form of ‘Ain’t No Way’. The follow up to ‘Own Brand Freestyle’, Dréya’s viral hit with FelixThe1st, the new cut helms an energetic and fun sound which showcases the Londoner’s braggadocious bars.
4. Daniel Caesar – ‘Please Do Not Lean’ feat. BADBADNOTGOOD
Both hailing from Toronto, ‘Please Do Not Lean’ is the new collaborative single from Daniel Caesar and BADBADNOTGOOD. Made up of two parts which seamlessly thread together, Caesar’s link-up with the instrumental jazz band sets the pace for a successful second half of the year.
5. Haich Ber Na – ‘Now We’re Strangers’
Cutting his teeth on grime production before shifting gears into more avant-garde sounds around 2017, self-taught musician Haich Ber Na is one of London’s most exciting experimental artists. New track ‘Now We’re Strangers’ continues to push sonic boundaries, blending his roots in rap with his unique brand of R&B.
