Boogarins - Lucifernandis

Boogarins are Fernando Almeida and Benke Ferraz, two teenagers from the Central Brazilian city of Goiânia who craft perky lo-fi guitar pop in their parents' basements. Other Music Recording Co., the label offshoot of the famed underground NYC record shop of the same name, are releasing Boogarins debut 'As Plantas Que Curam' ('Plants That Heal') next month, but you can watch the video for the record's opener Luciferandis right now. 

Lucifernandis shares some of the tumbling psych warmth that's made Unknown Mortal Orchestra's 'II' such an essential guitar record this year, and works precisely because of its lack of shine or studio-time. The video shows Almeida and Ferraz backed by their rhythm section and performing at a railway station, with the hazy late-afternoon feel matching the track's carefree catchiness to a tee. 

Other Music Recording Co. will release 'As Plantas Que Curam' on the 14th October 2013.
