Jack Peñate – No One Lied

Jack Peñate is a singer-songwriter from London. His first two albums, the scrappy, loveable teenage dreams of ‘Matinee’ [XL, 2007] and the wide open global jams of ‘Everything Is New’ [ibid, 2009] were well-received on release. But, as time goes on, the sheer enduring strength of his craft suggest that Jack may well be one of the great British songwriters, certainly of the current generation.

He has promised new music in 2012, and this is the first sight / sound of it. Uploaded last night to his Youtube channel, it’s a one-shot take of a song called No One Lied, and promises a subtle, still third album.
