Premiere: ALAK - I Pop Love

Northern Cali musician ALAK's 2013 EP 'Guardian Petted' was the sixth release on Warp Records re-editer patten's cassette label Kaleidoscope, a step in a slightly – very slightly – more accessible direction for an imprint known for its obliqueness. 

We shared the track Illial Clone at the time of the release and described it as a "digestible and instant dance pop song if your ears are wired that way" and "like three Kylie songs playing at once", which isn't a bad place to start when talking about I Pop Love – another song from the EP which was also later released as a single. The title alone seems made for a hook and there's no doubt it's in there, albeit buried in washes of layered sound – much like ALAK's face and body buried in a coating of salt or flour in this video.
