Dummy Mix 58 // 2011, the staff mix

Without stating the obvious, it’s 2011. And also, without stating the obvious, there’s going to be a lot of good music made, released and discovered this year. There’s no ‘tips for 2011’ articles on Dummy, partly because few on the editorial staff are quite sure who Jessie J is, partly because we’re hacks, not racing tipsters, but mostly because we’d rather let you listen to the artists we believe deserve a place in 2011 for yourself.

For those reasons, emails were blasted around the world this week, and each of the section editors and correspondents sent over their favourite new music for the coming months. Some of these tracks – like Wu Lyf and Jacques Greene – have been buzzed and blogged to high heaven, but deserve (yet) another listen, and some have dropped in this week. It’s far from definitive, utterly subjective, and we hope you love each track on this. Oh, and if you like the idea of a Dummy staff mix, let us know, spread it about, and we’ll start doing these monthly.
