Le1f - Coins

Le1f will follow up the ‘Dark York’ mixtape – which made Dummy’s top ten tapes of 2012 – with ‘Fly Zone’, due to drop on Monday. Like the last tape, it’s being released in part on Himanshu of Das Racist’s Greedhead label, and Coins serves as the first track shared from it.

Norwegians Drippin and Souldrop provide a beat more sticking to hip-hop type than the more eccentric production Le1f has often favoured – well evidenced on the swirling, cavernous atmospherics of his collaborative ‘Liquid’ EP with Boody. But as a result Le1f is pushed further to fore, with his animated flow suggesting he may be more for the gradual earning than all-out money grabs: “every night and day I be getting my coins”. And if your anticipation for ‘Fly Zone’ is at a high, rest assured Le1f can match you for excitement:

Greedhead and Camp & Street will release ‘Fly Zone’ on 28th January
