RYL0 teams up with Robel Ketema on new hyperpop single 'On The Run'
Opening her account for 2022 following a successful year previously, hyperpop songstress RYL0 shares a brand new single, entitled ‘On The Run’.
The last 12 months saw the rising talent put out a number of tracks such as ‘Decode’ and ‘Rich and Famous’, as well as dropping her most recent EP ‘I’m The Best’. On her electric new offering, RYL0 enlists producer Cary Singer and vocalist Robel Ketema to craft a sumptuous, left-field pop experience.
The track kicks off with longing guitar lines and a sugar-sweet hummed melody from RYL0, before Robel, an affiliate of 100 Gecs’ Dylan Brady, weighs in with his innovative fusion of hyperpop and Afrobeat flavours.
Alongside the single’s glitchy and propulsive instrumental, RYL0’s lyricism centres around themes of digital escapism and video games, bringing something new to the scene by striking a careful balance between joy, dystopian anxiety and sincere emotion.
