Spirit Sisters - March, 2012 / Ratchet

There’s a really sweet note on Spirit Sisters’ Soundcloud page that says: “Headphones/hi-fi recommended.” It’s not hard to decipher the subtext: this is spider-silk music that requires close listening. This Providence-via-Ann Arbor group recently posted two new tracks following a break of almost a year: March, 2012 and Ratchet. The former is like a warm memory of a longing glance, while the latter has a haunted edge. They resonate with a sense of preservation, of attempting to reach out like a message in a bottle.
