TANVI Shares Haunting Electronic Single 'Kisses To Fame'

"Pursuing art with the desire of recognition is inherently egotistical"

TANVI meditates on the clutches of fame in her glitchy new dance single.

Written from the perspective of a women who will stop at nothing to be famous, the eerie track opens with whispering echoes and trainlike drum patterns. The layered production becomes increasingly glitchy before transforming into a club-ready beat as TANVI's ethereal vocals dance on the surface.

"I feel like pursuing art with the desire of recognition is inherently egotistical no matter how pure we try to be in the act. It feels like there is this need to be seen and heard, a need that is not related to the art itself," TANVI explains of the song's meaning.

'Kisses To Fame' speaks on the character's desperate journey into the spotlight with lyrics like “giving all I got while going insane” and “wanna hear you scream my name”.

Boundary-pushing singer, songwriter and producer TANVI namechecked experimental electronic giants Aphex Twin, Actress and Sega Bodega as key influences when creating the track.

A music video by Delphino Productions (Nia Archives, Clipz, Rose Gray) accompanies the release. Fragments of a being appear distilled in rippling water, before cutting to lo-fi, twitching recordings of TANVI.

Born in India, raised in California, and now based in New York, TANVI's music is inspired by daydreams. Drawing from her computer science background, she persistently strives to explore and establish tangible connections in her musical creations.
