Daft Punk have split up

The Parisian duo announced the news via an eight-minute YouTube clip

Legendary dance duo Daft Punk have split after 28 years, as announced today in an eight-minuted YouTube video.

Titled ‘Epilogue’, the clip is taken from their 2006 scif-i film Electroma.

Pitchfork reports that, asked whether the duo were finished, their longtime publicist Kathryn Frazier confirmed the news but no reason was given for the split.

Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo formed Daft Punk in 1993 in Paris, with their 1997 album ‘Homework’ becoming a landmark in electronic music.
