MF DOOM fans unhappy with inclusion on Joe Biden's inauguration playlist

The late rapper was refused re-entry into the States in 2010 after a European tour

Fans of late rapper MF DOOM have hit back at President-Elect Joe Biden for including a track of DOOM’s on his new inauguration playlist.

“It’s unbelievable that anyone would think he would feel honored by being acknowledged in such an inauthentic manner,” one tweet read.

DOOM was England-born and never obtained US citizenship, being refused re-entry into the States in 2010 after a European tour, during a time when Joe Biden was Vice President to Barack Obama.

The 46-song inauguration playlist for Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris features DOOM’s 2004 single ‘Coffin Nails’ alongside tracks from Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar and more. It was curated by Issa Rae’s Raedio imprint alongside the Presidential Inaugural Committee.

Joe Biden will be inaugurated as the next US President this Wednesday (January 20th) after his victory over Donald Trump in the November 2020 election.

After Ariel Pink and John Maus were seen to be attending the recent anti-democratic protests in Washington DC, Pink has been dropped by his former label, Mexican Summer.

Jay Kay of Jamiroquai was forced to address the memes comparing him to a headgear-clad rioter who violently stormed the Capitol as part of the protests.
